Text Box: DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY!
Having just returned from the work Truck Show in Atlanta, and having attended the Miami Marine show, I can tell you that 2006 is going to be a great year.  Despite predictions of gloom and doom, all phases of our industry are clicking on all cylinders.  The Marine show was a great success, with attendance reaching near a record.  The truck show, having moved from Indianapolis, was strong in both attendance of exhibitors and buyers.
Tunica and Hershey should prove to be the icing on the cake for a clean sweep of our industries.  If you can possible attend one of these shows, I have one word, GO.  These shows are informative and a lot of fun.
Just a word about The Buyer's Bible for this year.  We are going to print in June and have to have all ad-work in by May first.  Contact your representative to reserve your spot in this years book.  If you don't have a representative, call us at 269-663-3296.  Your advertising is what makes this publication and web site possible.

Let's make it a great year.

Text Box: Competitors and Partners
When it comes to extruded rubber seals and gaskets, there are no two fiercer competitors than Clean Seal of South Bend, Indiana and Trim-Lok of Buena Park , California. These two companies make the finest gaskets and seals available anywhere.  But here comes the surprise, they also work together on some products.  As fierce as they fight each other, they have come to realize that together they can make and distribute the best at the best price.  Call your representative to find out about this joint venture.

Text Box:  THE SYLLABUS
Just like another familiar marketplace, you can sum up the trade show floor plan in three words: location, location, location.  Did I say that location is important?  Actually it is and it isn’t.  Let me explain.  Frequently, exhibitors assume that booths in the back of the hall or on the left side of the hall are bad.  Or, that an in-line exhibit space is not as good as a peninsula.   Or, a peninsula is worse than an island.  False, false, false.  Back, front, right side, left side, in-line, peninsula, or island are unimportant location factors.
Location is important, however, from the standpoint of knowing where you are on the trade show floor in relation to other landmarks.  More importantly, though is how to use the knowledge to gain show floor advantages.  The landmarks I speak of are venue facilities like snack bars, rest rooms, smoking areas, restaurants, and even exits.  Other landmarks include your customer’s exhibits, competitor’s exhibits, designated main aisles, and secondary aisles.
Study the layout of the hall.  Know where other key exhibitors are located, and plan your exhibit accordingly.  Decide where to place the elements that comprise your exhibit based on an understanding of where most traffic will be coming from and going to.  Design a flexible exhibit that can change as the show changes.  Day one traffic is not the same as the last day of the show, why should your exhibit be the same?
